How We Treat

Substance Use Disorder

We Treat
Substance Use Disorders.

We believe addiction is a disease that affects the mind, body, and spirit. We believe that substance use is a symptom of a greater issue. Often we see our clients have experienced some pain or trauma, or there is something they can’t let go of which leads them to using drugs and alcohol. If we can explore and find the root problem then the problem will be solved and we can recover.

Understanding addiction can be challenging, many of us in recovery have found that the hardest part of the journey is just getting started. At Fire Sky Recovery we want to take the guesswork out of it for you. If you believe you have a problem take our self-assessment to find out if you qualify for treatment. We would love be part of your journey to freedom.

Understanding Addiction

Self Assessment “Am I Addicted”

Questions about your drug or alcohol use in the past 12 months:

Have you often found that when you started using, you ended up taking/drinking more than you intended to?

Have you wanted to stop or cut down using or control your use/drinking?

Have you spent a lot of time getting or recovering from using/drinking?

Have you had a strong desire or urge to use/drink?

Have you missed work or school or often arrived late because you were intoxicated, high or recovering from the night before?

Has your use/drinking caused problems with other people such as with family members, friends or people at work?

Have you had to give up or spend less time working, enjoying hobbies, or being with others because of your drug use/drinking?

Have you ever gotten high/drunk before doing something that requires coordination or concentration like driving, boating, climbing a ladder, or operating heavy machinery?

Have you continued to use/drink even though you knew that the drug/alcohol caused you to have health problems like high blood pressure or or liver problems or mental health problems like making you depressed, anxious, agitated or irritable?

Have you found you needed to use/drink much more to get the same effect that you did when you first started taking it?

When you reduced or stopped using/drinking, did you have withdrawal symptoms or feel sick (aches, shaking, fever, weakness, diarrhea, nausea, sweating, heart pounding, difficulty sleeping, or feel agitated, anxious, irritable, or depressed)?

How We Treat It

Individual therapy

Our therapists aim to meet our clients where they’re at. We focus on changing beliefs about the self, the world, and the future which can limit our growth. While also developing a new way of thinking, feeling, and interacting with others and the world around them.

Life Skills

A unique and important of our program is the Life Skills component. Clients entering our program learn to cook, clean, and manage their space while living with other men. We believe taking care of our business correlates with achieving lasting recovery.

Education

Part of the curriculum in our program is to teach our clients about 12-step recovery, addiction, and mental health in order for them to find lasting change.

Group Therapy

Our group curriculum focuses on cohesion between group members as they learn and grow in recovery together. We have several different components from Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, 12-step facilitation, Mindfulness Therapy, and other therapeutic modalities designed to educate our clients and give them tools for change.

Psychiatry

We work closely with psychiatrists in our area to provide our clients with any medications that can assist in their mental health and recovery journey.

Family Therapy

With our new Family Therapy program and Fire Sky Academy, we offer the families of our clients resources and education to follow alongside their loved one in the recovery journey.
